Little Fizz and Party Fizz Story
I have always loved music, movement, entertaining and making people laugh and smile since childhood. I grew up in a musical family, my Dad was a Jazz Musician and I played the cello in orchestras and sang in choirs throughout my childhood and teens. I also acted in school productions and created my own shows to perform in front of a school audience from an early age. I have always had a very active imagination (some would say overactive!) and been very creative.
I started working with children in 1992 as a Nanny and became a parent in 1997, so children have always been a big part of my life. Following my degree I studied an Msc in Information Studies and became a Qualified Librarian – it was then that I started working as Children’s Librarian and organising Rhyme Time, Story Time and a variety of events at Grangetown Library, Cardiff.
Whilst on Maternity Leave with my second daughter in 2006, I decided to set up a business running Music and Movement Classes and providing children’s Party Entertainment. The business took off very quickly, there were only 2 other baby/ toddler classes in Cardiff at the time and my classes and parties were very popular. We made lots of friends during this period and some of the babies who first came to me are now in Uni!
As the business grew I was invited to provide educational music and movement sessions in schools and nurseries and to appear at Charity Events. I started my own annual event, the “NSPCC Teddy Bears’ Picnic” which ran for over 10 years and raised over £30, 000. I also volunteered for ‘NCT’ and helped raise over £30,000. It has always been important to me to support children’s charities and organisations and I have continued to work with ‘Action for Children’, “Barnardos”, “Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital”, “Ronald MacDonald House”, “Flying Start” and many other organisations.
I am very proud to have won many awards over the years including ‘What’s on for 4 Little Ones’: “Best loved Preschool Activities Organiser in Wales” at runner up as “Best Children’s Party Entertainment Runner Up in the UK” also with “What’s On 4 Little Ones”. I have also won awards with Netmums and Wales Children’s Activities and Services Awards” – winning 3 Awards in 2021 – my favourite being “Triumph Over Lockdown”! In 2022 I also won Best Children’s Independent Business in Wales with Wales Children’s Activities and Services Awards.
I have created the Little Fizz Class Programme which aims to provide a variety of exciting and engaging activities which are fun and educational and, most importantly, accessible and enjoyable to ALL children and their families. I write all of the Little Fizz original songs and Little Fizz Song are available to purchase in both CD format and as Mp3 downloads. I created the magic combination of activities which comprises the Party Fizz winning formula and have been privileged to see so many happy faces and help create treasure memories at my Birthday Parties over the years.
I have been supported by some amazing Team Members over the last 9 years and decided that 2023 was the year to offer Little Fizz as a Franchise Opportunity. Emily Quinn, is the first Little Fizz/ Party Fizz Franchisee and is loving running Classes and Parties in the Cardiff North Area! I have enjoyed supporting her through the early stages of her new journey as a Business Owner and seeing her success. I will continue to provide support wherever needed.
Meanwhile I continue to run classes and parties in Cardiff South and Vale of Glamorgan, as well as many of the surrounding areas, and continue to develop and build on the success achieved up until now – I have many more ideas! Franchise opportunities are available for both of these areas as well as throughout Wales and England.
